The doors are always open at Homelife

Find out how Paola Matute is leading Homelife Associations Inc into 2024.

As the Annual General Meeting (AGM) draws near, scheduled for November 14th, Paola Matute’s appointment as the new Manager of Homelife Association Inc marks the onset of a new era. She introduces a refreshed vision on governance, management, and team support, intending to further elevate the high standards Homelife has been renowned for over 31 years.

Homelife's founding dates back to a time predating the NDIS. It was established by dedicated families, with a vision on person-centered care, steadfastly committed to delivering exemplary support at all times. With years, the organisation has burgeoned, extending its reach to serve the broader Moreton Bay region including Bribie Island, all while adhering to the foundational ethos.

Unforeseen challenges, such as the pandemic, moving buildings and focusing on maintaining the high level of care to its participants, the 30-year celebration was postponed. The organisation showcased its resilience celebrating it’s 31-year Anniversary which was a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence in disability support. Joanne, the Finance Administrator, with Homelife since 2001, remarked, "it’s heartening to still have some of the foundational members and families with us. Paola's addition is invigorating, as she is poised to continue the amazing work that Margaret Vermeij-Irvin (former Service Manager) and the team have been undertaking for many years."

Paola, with her extensive experience in community care and disability support management, steps into her role with clear objectives. Keenly focusing on enhancing organisational policies, procedures and empowering the leadership team to take the organisation into the future. Expressing her enthusiasm, Paola said, "I deeply appreciate the dedication and commitment of the team at Homelife. Participant needs are and has always been the priority of the service foundation. I can’t wait to drive that empowerment through our management team and share what we are doing at Homelife. It’s all about sharing and if I can provide some recognition to the wonderful team and people here across the wonderful work being undertaken, it will be one of my key focuses”.

As 2024 beckons, the leadership team, with diligent planning, is working through some exciting projects and might see the notable 'You & Me' program return. It's evident that the Homelife team, under Paola's leadership, is marching forward with the same spirit and resilience that has driven Homelife to its continued success.
